Abstract: |
A collaboration on the Proteomics of Alzheimers
Disease is currently underway between the Buck Institute
for Age Research, Rush Alzheimer’s Disease Center,
and PerkinElmer Life and Analytical Sciences. In this
study, human brain cell extracts from "The Religious
Orders Study” were prepared using prefractionation,
2D-gels and automated ZipTipTM and ZipPlateTM preparative
techniques. Proteins were identified by peptide mass fingerprinting
using a new high-performance orthogonal O-MALDI TOF-MS
instrument (PerkinElmerSCIEX prOTOF 2000). In this poster,
orthogonal ion extraction coupled with collisional ion
cooling for O-MALDI TOF-MS will be described, and will
be illustrated using the Alzheimer’s samples. |
